When the spring comes, the land awakens from its long winter slumber and all at once everything becomes green in the land of a thousand lakes. There are uncountable acres of woodlands, rivers and streams; the animals in the woods begin life anew. When the cuckoo sings, the merry spirits of joy and fun reign. (Yakutsk)

Певчая птица поет только летом. Приходит весна, земля пробуждается от тяжелого холодного сна, и очень быстро зеленеет вся страна с тысячами озёр, ручьёв и рек, с неисчислимыми километрами густых лесов. Звери просыпаются и начинают новую жизнь. Все становится торжественным, когда кукушка начинает петь.

Kege er gaukur, söngfuglinn sem syngur á sumrin. Þegar vorar vaknar landið undan þunga vetrarins og allt í einu grænkar í þúsundvatnalandinu. Þar eru þúsundir ferkílómetra af skógarlindum, ám og lækjum. Dýrin í skóginum hefja nýtt líf. Það ríkir gleði og gaman þegar gaukurinn syngur!
